The city of Reno is filled with the best of everything, from some of the world’s most famous casinos, like Harrah’s and Fitzgeralds, to world class attractions, such as the National Automobile Museum and the National Bowling Stadium. Choose to go in the the winter, and you can go ski the slopes 25 minutes from the Reno-Tahoe Airport at the Mt. Rose Ski resort. Arrive in the summer, and you have your pick of lakes 30 minutes in any direction. Reno really does offer the best of everything.

However, how does one know how to find cheap Reno hotel deals? If you follow the guidelines outlined in this guide, you should have absolutely no problem finding fantastic Reno hotel deals.

The first thing you will want to do when trying to find a deal is to go to my favorite hotel comparison site Hotels Combined, a favorite search engine of many and compare all of the cheap hotel deals in Reno. Once you’ve done so, you should find that there are a lot of sites that pop up that allow you to find and compare the cheapest tickets or hotel rooms in the Reno area.

Some of these sites allow you to specify which hotels you would like to search specifically for cheap rooms. You will want to take note of the prices after searching for a specific hotel so that you can compare which of these discounts and find which one gives you the best discount. Some people are often misled into thinking that all of these sites pull their hotel room prices from the same sources. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact it is rare if you use Hotels Combined, of all these sites they hardly ever show the same prices on the same room as the competitors, since they have different strategies to get different deals on each room you book through them.

This is the reason that they pay full retail price when booking a room. Instead of only asking about the price of the room you want, consider asking them if they have any rooms that they need to get booked due to low demand. More often than not, even in Reno, most hotels will have a certain group of rooms that rarely get booked because of poor marketing on the hotel’s end for those floor plans. It might just be that they forgot to mention those rooms on their website, but whatever the reason may be, the bottom line is that they are not being rented. One last strategy you can use to find a hotel room in Reno for a great price is to go during the off-season. It’s been my experience that booking a hotel room in Reno during the off-season can yield as much as 30% of the usual price.
